Sharon began her career on Wall Street in the securities industry, and moved from that venue into marketing and sales management positions in the services and software sectors. Since founding Baker Montgomery in 1994, she has developed a reputation for recruiting at the most senior levels in corporate IT and general management, specializing in building practices for global consulting organizations and recruitment of top technical professionals.

Additionally, she has made major contributions to the success and growth of several emerging strategic and technology focused organizations, as well as various niche-oriented consulting firms. She has often worked as the primary search executive for these client firms directing overall recruiting operations, and personally placing key executives into national and international management positions.

Among her accomplishments, Sharon has worked with a key-player IT strategy firm from their point of inception, recruiting well over 200 leading IT strategy professionals during a successful relationship spanning 10-years. She has led several assignments with venture-backed enterprises where extensive organizational "roll-up" strategies were utilized and where the assignments have included staffing of entire management teams for the newly defined organizations. This work has often involved the establishment of compensation and equity distribution guidelines and strategies designed to successfully compete for talent in the marketplace.

Sharon has also successfully led client organizations through venture-to-contender-to-IPO process in terms of tailoring executive recruiting strategies during these transitions and into their new corporate form of operation. Sharon received her degree in economics from Emory University , in Atlanta .
