Ann Boland, CHE and President of The Boland Group, has been an executive search and management consultant since 1990. She formed Triage Solutions, Inc., a Maryland headquartered, woman owned search firm in 1999. Ann has over 20 years operational, consulting and executive search experience. The Boland Group is the retained executive search arm of Triage Solutions, Inc. Triage Solutions is a full services recruiting firm -- providing full services staffing solutions, including contract, temp to perm, and permanent placement. Prior to executive search, Ann was a national IT partner with IBM Consulting Group, where she was responsible for the successful start up and development of two management consulting practices: the eCommerce Consulting practice and the national Healthcare IT Consulting practice. Over a two year period, Ann was responsible for assessing and managing the performance of consultants and candidates within IBM, while recruiting and retaining more than 25 business advisory professionals, at multiple levels. As CIO of a $250M Insurance organization, Ann spearheaded the IS talent initiative required for a successful post-merger integration consolidation, assessment recruitment and retention over 100 IT professionals over a six month time period. In 1995, Ann was herself recruited as the first female direct admit partner to Ernst & Young’s Management Consulting Practice, where she belonged to both the Insurance and managed care practices. During her tenure, Ann was active in numerous national People Committee activities, including MBA recruitment, diversity recruitment and talent retention initiatives. Ann has focused exclusively on executive and management level recruiting since she joined Russell Reynolds Associates (RRA), as an Executive Director in 1997, where she served on the Global Healthcare / Life Sciences Search practice as well as the Global IT practice. Ann co-founded RRA’s Global Professional Services practice; she left the firm in 1999 to spearhead a major partner recruiting initiative on behalf of KPMG’s Consulting Global Financial Services Practice. Ann gained first-hand understanding of the talent acquisition and retention challenges faced by internal HR organizations during the year went in-house with a client as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and VP of HR. Ann is a frequently invited speaker, quoted expert and published author in various industry forums. Ann’s most recent publications include a bylined article for Grapevine, the international executive search magazine, “Executive Recruiting Future Shock: the War for Talent in IT versus Healthcare”. Her perspective on the overall industry job market was also featured recently in an ExecuNet article, “Where the Jobs Are”. Ann Boland is currently a Preferred Member of the Top Echelon’s Network. She is the Co-founder of the Washington DC chapter of the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters (IACPR).
