biography

A search consultant with Lois L. Lindauer Searches since 2002, Mary Ann Botelho has two decades of experience working with not-for-profit organizations. Ms. Botelho began her career in public relations, helping charitable institutions strengthen their media relations, publications, and community relations efforts. Her diverse accomplishments on the “in-house” side include an award-winning media relations program to educate the public about chronic mental illness, publicizing the launch of the Handel & Haydn’s Society’s first CD and first performance at New York’s Lincoln Center, and the development of a multi-cultural public information campaign encouraging the use of mammography screenings.

With experience in the array of nonprofit settings – health care, higher education, arts administration, and social service – Ms. Botelho brings to LLLS a unique understanding of market and operational challenges facing today’s charitable organization. She most recently completed searches for the Clark Art Institute (Director of Development), Colby College (Associate Vice President of Communications), and the Hartford Seminary (Director of Institutional Advancement).

In addition to her work with Lois L. Lindauer Searches, Ms. Botelho keeps her hand in writing, media relations, and marketing as a consultant. Her clients have included Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group, the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, Jamaica Plain/Centre South Main Streets, Boston University, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
