Mr. Chaney is Role1's President/CEO, and is a Role1 Senior Management Consultant, specializing in project management, executive search, executive coaching, leadership development, as well as, strategic planning, marketing, and sales consulting to SMB CEOs.
David launched Role1 to meet the unique needs of SMB (Start-up to $100M) CEOs, owners, investors, and executive teams.
In addition to managing Role1's day-to-day operations, David defines Role1 client solutions, builds and manages consulting teams and projects, manages solution delivery, and provides executive level coaching, consultation, and workshops.
David's primary role is to ensure the optimal development and delivery of high-value cross-discipline SMB CEO level consulting and coaching solutions.
David has defined consulting solutions, led numerous engagement teams, delivered programs, led workshops, led executive search, provided coaching, and served as an interim executive from CEO to VP Marketing, with start-up, SMB, to Global 2000 companies since 1992, across the biotech, communications, computing, consumer, retail, financial services, and software industries.
Prior to founding Role1, David was: president and CEO of Liv-e Group, LLC, specializing in strategy and marketing solutions; executive vice president of Crimson Consulting Group, specializing in Internet and e-commerce marketing; president of MarketNET, Inc., an integrated marketing and sales services company; executive vice president of Mueller/Shields, a full-service general marketing agency; owner and operator of The Chaney Group, an executive search firm, founder/CEO of ConsultNET, Inc., a venture funded on-line services firm, and owner and operator of a consumer electronics franchise.
David possesses over 25 years of executive and management consulting, marketing, and sales experience, providing consulting services to global market leaders, such as: Agilent, Avnet, Cisco, Compaq, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle, and many others, as well as, numerous SMB companies and venture funded start-ups such as WebLogic – a web application server company (acquired by BEA Systems).
David lives in San Francisco Bay Area, in the heart of the Silicon Valley, is married and is the father of two children, Nicole (just finished 8 years in the USMC) and John (just entering college this year and excited to be playing college football). David plays the piano and guitar, is an artist, and has served on the San Jose Economic Promotion Task Force with the mayor of San Jose.
