Mr. Bob Cowan

biography

Bob Cowan, Managing Director, joined Stone Murphy in 2006 and has over 15 years of experience in retained executive search. He is responsible for managing local and national assignments in the Financial Services industry. Client engagements have been with large asset management firms, as well as boutique and fast growing private investment funds. They range from Portfolio Manager to Senior Analyst in fixed income, equity, and alternative asset classes such as distressed debt, real estate and private equity. In addition, Bob recruits senior leaders for a variety of infrastructure roles in the financial services industry.

Bob’s client base also includes Private Equity owned middle market companies where he has competed searches in the functional areas of sales and marketing, finance, business development, technology, human resources and operations.

Prior to joining Stone Murphy Bob participated in the completion of a wide variety of search engagements in financial services, technology and healthcare. He conducted searches from the Executive level to Director in the areas of finance, operations, corporate development and sales/marketing. He began his career with two global executive search firms, Korn/Ferry International and Highland Partners (now Heidrick & Struggles).

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College where he served as Captain of the Varsity Hockey Team. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and is active in the CFA Society of Minnesota.
