biography

John is a member of the Board Practice and focuses on recruiting Chairmen and Non-Executive Directors. He recruits for a range of different clients including public, private and private-equity owned businesses. His work spans most vertical markets.

John’s early career was in the Technology Sector. He spent 11 years with IBM where his career developed from sales to senior management positions. In his last role with IBM he was General Manager of a newly formed services business and was responsible for leading this business through transformation and growth.

John transitioned into executive search in 1994 when he joined Norman Broadbent International. After a successful period within its Technology Practice, he left to set up a new executive search business which he built up, led and sold to Heidrick & Struggles in 2001. John took over as Managing Partner for Boyden UK in 2003.

John was educated at Lancing College and The City University. He is a keen golfer and armchair rugby enthusiast.
