biography

As the daughter of an accomplished chef, my journey into the hospitality industry began at 13 when I was bussed tables and washed dishes at my family's restaurant. I worked my way through high school as a server, bartender, and line cook in several different concepts, which introduced me to the corporate restaurant world. This continued through my four years at Bryant University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing and Communication. I attempted a brief stint in the world of insurance underwriting, but quickly found myself gravitating back to the hospitality industry. In 2005, I relocated to Orlando, Florida to begin my career with a company I had always held in high esteem, The Walt Disney Company.

My tenure at Walt Disney World began with a management internship at Chef Mickeys, the highest volume location on the property at the time. "Trial by fire" is the best way I can describe the experience. From that point, I was relocated to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge where I had the opportunity to manage a high volume buffet, a AAA rated 4-diamond fine dining restaurant, room service operations, a fast causal concept, and several hotel bars and lounges. My experience here afforded me the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the largest South African wine collection in the continental United States and to achieve the status of Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers under the direction of John Blazon, M.S. and Doug Frost, M.S./M.W.

When I decided to return home to the Boston area, I accepted a position with Not Your Average Joe's restaurant group. After a successful 3 year tenure, my personal life relocated me north to New Hampshire where I joined Langley Consulting Service Inc. in 2011. I feel my years of experience in the hospitality industry give me the ability to connect with my candidates on a professional level and have a better understanding of their backgrounds and situations. I strive to develop a partnership with both my clients and candidates to forge long term relationships and find the right fit with each of my placements. When not recruiting, I enjoy snowboarding, surfing, CrossFit and sharing my culinary wisdom on my blog, The Tipsy Cupcake.
