biography
Robert D. Gatti is President of Gatti & Associates. Prior to this, Gatti was a Vice President in human resources with the Bank of Boston. In this capacity, he was responsible for a variety of activities including staffing and international human resources.
Twenty years of senior level human resource management experience in diverse industries highlight Gatti’s well-rounded career. In addition to his tenure with the Bank of Boston, he has held positions of responsibility with Westinghouse Electric, Compugraphic, Digital Equipment and Motorola. While at Digital, he participated in the very early development stages of their integrated employment resource management system. He is also a pioneer in the field of employee redeployment having written and lectured on this critical topic. Gatti is currently a member of HR Today’s Board of Contributing Editors.
Gatti was formally recognized some years ago as the first official member of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA), and is the 1998 recipient of their John D. Erdlen five star award. Additionally, he is a past President of the New England Chapter of The Human Resources Planning Society known as HRMG and has been on the Executive Committee of the Human Resources Council (HRC).
Considered to be a foremost human resources strategist and trainer of human resource practitioners, he specializes both in the placement of human resources professionals and consulting around a variety of human resources department issues. Additionally, he is a principal in Career Strategies, Incorporated, a career counseling firm in Boston and is the founder of the Human Resources Development Institute. He holds a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business communications from Emerson College where he is also a member of their Board of Overseers.
