biography

Lindsay A. Lautz was a founding partner of Leadership Group Executive Search (aka LGES) a leading senior level retained executive search firm located in San Francisco. Lindsay is a former Partner of Wilkinson & Ives (1992 - 1997), a senior level retained executive search firm. In 1990, Lindsay began his search career as a Principal at Korn/Ferry International. Over the past twenty three years, Lindsay has successfully completed a significant number of searches in all functional areas in such industries as consumer products/electronics/services, hardware, media and telecommunications, broadcast and interactive television, and entertainment for pre-IPO Internet ventures and large multinational corporations.

In 1981, Lindsay co-founded Positive Video, Ltd., Northern California's first post production only facility that specialized in electronic editing of video tape, special effects, audio, and animation for video programs and TV commercials for over 600 corporations, TV stations, advertising agencies, universities, governments, and independent production companies throughout the world. Lindsay developed Positive Video into one of the most respected facilities in the United States. The firm's work was acknowledged with numerous Emmy Awards, Clios, and a Grammy. Positive Video was sold in 1987 to Groupe André Perry of Quebec, Canada, and Lindsay stayed on until 1989 as President and CEO.

Lindsay joined Fromm & Sichel, Inc., a subsidiary of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons of New York, in 1973. Fromm & Sichel, based in San Francisco, was the worldwide distributor of The Christian Brothers wines, brandy, and champagne. Initially, Lindsay was involved in the development of St. Regis Napa Vineyards and their currently leading non-alcoholic wine. In 1974, he was promoted to Vice President, Human Resources, and in 1977 he was elected to the position of Vice President and Treasurer, becoming one of the youngest officers in the history of the company.

Lindsay's early career was with Associated Freight Lines, an interstate common carrier, where he served in several capacities, ending as Manager, Human Resources and Administration for Associated's operations in Los Angeles.

Lindsay received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
