biography

Upon completion of a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of West Florida, Normand joined Trans-Canada Glass Inc. as a Marketing Management trainee, focusing on brand image and business development.

In 1986, Normand left Trans-Canada and, along with another partner, founded what was to become one of the largest P.O.S. manufacturing firms in Canada. After successfully growing the business throughout Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa, Normand sold his equity position in late 1996 to join Mandrake as the Managing Partner of the company's Montreal office. Since that time he has developed a thriving practice within the Quebec market.

Normand's accomplishments also include being named Quebec Young Businessman of the Year in 1989, serving as Executive Vice-President of the Montreal Young Chamber of Commerce in 1991, as well as Chairman of the Chamber's 1990 fund raising campaign. Normand has also been a Council member of the University Club of Montreal and a volunteer for the Quebec Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society since 1999. In March of 2000 the Quebec MS Society gave him their Leadership Award for his enthusiasm and contribution as a member of the Quebec business community.

An avid athlete, Normand was rated a top 25 NCAA singles tennis player, top 10 junior singles player, and top five junior doubles team player throughout his university years. During this time Normand also achieved NAIA's All-American Student Athlete award.
