Scott Meyer

Scott Meyer serves as a Principal Consultant for McDermott & Bull Executive Search, where he heads the firm’s Consumer Products Practice with particular focus on the firm’s Private Equity Practice Group. Scott partners with publicly traded and private equity portfolio consumer packaged goods and consumer durables companies, as well as private equity firms. Scott’s clients include portfolio companies owned by ClearLight Partners and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.

The first 20 years of Scott’s career were in consumer packaged goods brand management with Johnson & Johnson and Gillette, working on global brands such as Tylenol, Splenda, Oral-B, and Braun. Over the next 10 years, he subsequently assumed general management positions at consumer durables companies as President/CEO at T-Fal/WearEver, Chief Marketing Officer and VP/General Manager at Sun Capital/Bain Capital portfolio company American Standard Brands, and President – North America at Breville. Scott also has extensive experience consulting for operating companies owned by private equity funds such as Thomas H. Lee Partners, Harbinger Capital Partners and MidOcean Partners. Having been a retained search client ten times in his career as well as having been placed as a candidate four times by retained search firms, Scott has a first-hand perspective on executive search not usually found in career search consultants.

Scott grew up in Indiana, and his career has given him the opportunity to live in Pennsylvania, California, Colorado, New Jersey, and due to his fluency in German, in Frankfurt, Germany for five years. He and his wife Barb have two grown daughters and reside in Huntington Beach, California. Scott volunteers for the Be The Match Registry at the National Marrow Donor Program, after having donated to a chronic myelogenous leukemia patient who is still alive over three years after the transplant. Scott received a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University Krannert School of Management.
