Annemarie Curry Penny has ten years of professional-level executive search in California.

Annemarie represents technology, entertainment, and services clients in most functional areas including finance, technology, engineering, legal, sales, and marketing. She works mainly with Manager through Vice President levels.

In the mid-nineties, Annemarie co-founded Apex Direct Search, a cross-functional boutique firm, specializing in Los Angeles startups and technology companies. She was recognized for her integrity and expertise in the local hi-tech economy. She was regularly featured in the Los Angeles Times, and appeared on CNBC and MSNBC’s Evening News with Brian Williams.

Annemarie’s recruiting career began at BridgeGate Group, one of the largest and oldest privately-held search firms in Orange County, where she placed financial and marketing executives for Fortune 500 companies.

Annemarie is an entrepreneur at heart, focused on teamwork, proactive communication, and timely results. She was a partner in launching several entertainment and technology companies. She has produced many large-scale live events and executive produced three independent theatrical feature films. As a teenager, she lived in the Middle East. All of these experiences have given her a broad perspective when assisting the growth of companies, large or small, local or global.

Annemarie began her career in corporate finance for General Motors/Hughes Aircraft Company; KPMG Peat Marwick’s Manufacturing, Retailing, and Distribution practice; and Baxter International’s Cardiovascular Division. She has an MBA in marketing.
