biography
Jon Starr joined Jones-Parker/Starr as Managing Director in 1996 and has approximately 15 years of management, real estate and investment consulting experience.
Prior to joining Jones-Parker/Starr, Jon served for eight years as Director of Marketing and Finance for Furumotto Realty of New York City, the largest Japanese/American Real Estate management and investment firm in the United States with over one hundred agents in six offices. Jon was responsible for consulting with clients and forming commercial relations with Japanese banks, trading companies and American affiliates.
Jon began his career in advertising at the well-known international agencies, Leo Burnett and Marsteller, where he managed clients in consumer products (Union Carbide and Green Giant) and insurance (Allstate). Subsequently, he became one of the youngest and largest Real Estate developers in Chicago.
He received his B.S. degree in Economics, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 1971. He attended Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business on full scholarship and received his MBA in 1973.
Jon is an avid golfer and enjoys basketball, opera, non-fiction and International travel. He is married and has three children.
