Andrea Worland, Esq. is the Founding Principal of Lateral One Legal Search Solutions. Prior to Lateral One, Andrea co-founded and was Managing Partner of PartnerJD, a highly successful temporary legal staffing firm. Under Andrea's management, PartnerJD was recognized as a Troutman Sanders Greater Richmond Venture Forum Company to Watch. This award is given to rapidly rising and innovative start-up companies that contribute significantly to the entrepreneurial environment of the Richmond community. Andrea sold her interest in December 2009 in order to focus on the changing legal landscape of Lateral Partner and Attorney Alternative Career placements.

Prior to forming PartnerJD, Andrea was a Managing Director at global industry leader Major, Lindsey & Africa. She was based in Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. A member of the Partner Practice Group, her practice focused on placing Lateral Partner attorneys in law firmsand corporations in the surrounding areas. She began her legal career as an in-house lawyer and analyst for the American Insurance Association, Office of the General Counsel, in Washington, D.C.

Currently, Andrea chairs a virtual organization, the Attorney Recruiter Consortium, where she advises both sides on industry trends. She is also a member of the Metropolitan Richmond Womens Bar Association, the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, the NALSC (National Association of Legal Search Consultants) and is recognized as an honored member 2010-2011 by the Cambridge Whos Who of Executive Entrepreneurs.

Andrea is acting President of a primate conservation foundation (formerly known as ApeNet) envisioned by musician Peter Gabriel, the late philanthropist Steven Woodruff (Coca-Cola Foundation), and Sue Savage-Rumbaugh (bonobo linguistic scientist). Andrea has also served on the Advisory Boards of the Orangutan Land Trust and the Bonobo Conservation Initiative (www.bonobo.org), and the Maui Ape Preserve (Koko.org). Locally, Andrea was a member of the Campaign for a Compassionate Solution Committee that helped fund the Richmond SPCAs renowned (opening up to hundreds more animals) no-kill facility.

When away from the office, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, entrepreneurial and philanthropic networking, tennis, and attempting to jam on her Les Paul Guitar.

Andrea holds a Juris Doctor from the Villanova University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the College of William and Mary (Reves School for International Studies).
